How Alisa Works-Comparison with Results Obtained Manually
Comparison with an autocollimator in the laboratory of Rank Taylor-Hobson in Milan, Italy.
A test was made in the laboratory of Rank-Taylor Hobson in Milan (Italy). In this case, a target was set up on an optical bench. On one side it was observed with our system, and on the other with a precise autocollimator system. The target was then moved in steps of 90 mm, six times, for a total movement of 450 mm.
At each of these positions, an image of the target was taken with the CCD, and its centroid computed by the program. The tilt of the same target was observed with the autocollimator, and this tilt was converted into the height of the target using software provided by Rank-Taylor Hobson. As the following figure shows, there is a good agreement betwen the two approaches.
The graph at right demonstrates that the CCD based system is extremely accurate.
